Engagement ring spending will total an amazing $6.1 billion in the United States in 2008, with another $2 billion in spending on wedding rings for brides and grooms. Despite the depressing economic outlook in the States with the foreclosures and job losses, it seems when it comes to spending on engagement rings that's one thing they won't compromise on. The study by The Wedding Report suggested that the bridal market is sizzling in the cold economic conditions. And winter is also, the survey says, the most popular time to pop the question and get engaged.
