Diamond Certificate
Close OR Esc Key
A diamond certificate is an overall report of all the important characteristics of the diamond being examined by independent gemologist / laboratory.

The purpose of a certificate is to help a layman understand the complex diamond specification in a simpler format and able to compare the same with other qualities.

At DiamondsnDiamonds we follow a strict certification program as mentioned below.

Diamonds above 0.30 ct.wt. are certified by GIA/ IGI / HRD / EGL, any one of these internationally recognized independent laboratories. Multi stone jewellery is certified by our in-house GIA certified gemologist known as DiamondsnDiamonds certificate and if requested can also be certified by anyone of these independent Labs EGL / IGI / DGLA. Multi Stone Jewellery can only be certified by EGL / IGI / DGLA as other labs don't offer jewellery certification. This is a standard practice throughout the industry; in fact many jewellers don't provide any certificate for multi stone jewellery.

If you have any queries please feel to call us on 0800 048 0178 for more details.

Engagement Rings – The Politics of Love

When it comes to whether pregnant women are wearing engagement rings, it can be a political minefield – especially if you're an American Republican.

The elections in America have unearthed the usual personal investigations into politicians' lives. If a candidate stands for certain principles, they're expected to live by them. If they believe in the traditional conservative family unit, wearing engagement rings and wedding rings is as crucial as policies. The cliché of the politician kissing the baby taps into this idea of being a decent, family, loving, law-abiding man or woman of the people. But the lack of engagement rings has caused some trouble for Sarah Palin, the vice-presidential candidate for the Republican party.

Missing Engagement Rings

Critics have raised the fact that the term fiancé is incorrect when used to refer to the partner of Bristol Palin (Sarah Palin's daughter). No engagement rings are worn by the couple (yet), but Sarah Palin is eager to put her daughter's impending future marriage high on the agenda as having a pregnant, unmarried daughter clearly goes against Republican values. The image of the happy family is central to American politics, and any anomalies are quickly packaged in a way to dismiss controversy. The fact Palin's daughter and her partner don't wear engagement rings is being used by critics of the politician.

No Engagement Rings Controversy

Some see Sarah Palin's position as putting pressure on her daughter's partner to buy engagement rings and opt for a hurry-up marriage. As one critic said in order to claim the Republican family values Palin represents, talking about her daughter's future marriage is simply not sufficient. Bristol Palin needs to be proposed to with engagement rings, the offer accepted and a date set. “Anything short of that,” the critic Merlene Davis wrote in The Vancouver Sun, “is play acting”. Critics say the constant talk around the future marriage could be seen as a way to sanitise the less than ideal situation for a Republican's daughter.

Marriage not to be Pushed into

Davis says the term 'future fiancé' has been used in The Boston Globe and on TV news, but the words are plastering over the reality as it stands now – that Palin's daughter and partner don't wear engagement rings and she is in fact 'an unwed mother-to-be'. And there is speculation around the fact Palin is such a high profile Republican, her daughter's partner may feel pressured into buying engagement rings. But marriage isn't the solution for all young single mums to be, with almost half of teenage marriages ending in divorce.
