Diamond Certificate
Close OR Esc Key
A diamond certificate is an overall report of all the important characteristics of the diamond being examined by independent gemologist / laboratory.

The purpose of a certificate is to help a layman understand the complex diamond specification in a simpler format and able to compare the same with other qualities.

At DiamondsnDiamonds we follow a strict certification program as mentioned below.

Diamonds above 0.30 ct.wt. are certified by GIA/ IGI / HRD / EGL, any one of these internationally recognized independent laboratories. Multi stone jewellery is certified by our in-house GIA certified gemologist known as DiamondsnDiamonds certificate and if requested can also be certified by anyone of these independent Labs EGL / IGI / DGLA. Multi Stone Jewellery can only be certified by EGL / IGI / DGLA as other labs don't offer jewellery certification. This is a standard practice throughout the industry; in fact many jewellers don't provide any certificate for multi stone jewellery.

If you have any queries please feel to call us on 0800 048 0178 for more details.

Carat Weight Colour Clarity Cut Shape
Shape refers to the overall look of a diamond. Diamonds come in a variety of shapes. Do not confuse cut with shape, cut is what determines how well-cut your diamond is, where as diamond shape is the shape it was cut into.
The first step in choosing a diamond often involves selecting your or her favorite shape. The Round Brilliant is by far the most popular shape, and it is the most readily available in every possible quality and size. The choice of shape is your personal preference, below are some pictures of different diamond shapes:
Round Brilliant- The most basic of diamonds, and the only shape not considered "fancy," this shape is very much how it sounds – a rounded diamond in the shape of a circle. The round brilliant is the classic diamond shape and contains 58 facets including the culet. The round brilliant shape is the most expensive as it is usually possible to retain more carat size by cutting to fancy shapes than cut to a round.
Princess - A square cut diamond that has refractive properties almost near round brilliant. The second most popular shape, this squared diamond has only grown in popularity while still being a relatively new shape. The Princess cut is becoming popular because it is both brilliant and unique.
Marquise - long and slender, this shape, originally commissioned by Louis XIV of France, is wonderful for maximizing the carat within the setting. The marquise shape will accentuate the length of the fingers and works well on a person with longer fingers
Emerald - A rectangular shaped diamond, this shape is reflective of a classic and aristocratic elegance.
Pear - Mostly used in rings and pendants, the pear shape diamond is shaped in a tear drop shape and has fairly good proportions to refract light well.
Heart - essentially a pear shaped diamond with a cleft at the top, the heart shaped diamond is the ultimate symbol of romance. This shaped diamond is frequently seen in pendants but is more than acceptable as a choice in a ring.
Oval – The oval resembles pretty much to the rounds and is more of elliptical. This shape has a very brilliant appeal.
Radiant - this square or rectangular shaped diamond does an excellent job of combining the elegant and classic appeal of the emerald shape with the brilliance of the round shape.
Asscher - This pristine cut is a square with deeply trimmed edges. Asschers are rare and very sought-after for their remarkable depth and beauty.
