Diamond Certificate
Close OR Esc Key
A diamond certificate is an overall report of all the important characteristics of the diamond being examined by independent gemologist / laboratory.

The purpose of a certificate is to help a layman understand the complex diamond specification in a simpler format and able to compare the same with other qualities.

At DiamondsnDiamonds we follow a strict certification program as mentioned below.

Diamonds above 0.30 ct.wt. are certified by GIA/ IGI / HRD / EGL, any one of these internationally recognized independent laboratories. Multi stone jewellery is certified by our in-house GIA certified gemologist known as DiamondsnDiamonds certificate and if requested can also be certified by anyone of these independent Labs EGL / IGI / DGLA. Multi Stone Jewellery can only be certified by EGL / IGI / DGLA as other labs don't offer jewellery certification. This is a standard practice throughout the industry; in fact many jewellers don't provide any certificate for multi stone jewellery.

If you have any queries please feel to call us on 0800 048 0178 for more details.

Carat Weight Colour Clarity Cut Shape
Colour refers to the scale to which a diamond is colourless.
Diamonds are graded on a colour scale established by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) which ranges from
D (colourless) to Z.
Diamond Colour Scale
Diamond Color
D Absolutely colourless. The highest colour grade, which is extremely rare.
E Colourless. Only minute traces of colour can be detected by an expert gemmologist. A rare diamond.
F Colourless. Slight colour detected by an expert gemmologist, but still considered a "colourless" grade.A high-quality diamond.
G Near-colourless. Colour noticeable when compared to diamonds of better grades, but these grades offerexcellent value.
H-I Near-colourless. Colour slightly detectable. An excellent value.
J Near-colourless. Colour slightly detectable to the untrained eye. An excellent value.
K-M Noticeable colour.
N-Z Noticeable colour. Not offered at DiamondsnDiamonds Somtimes used in designer jewellery to create a contrast. Example - centre yellow and side white diamonds in a three stone ring.
Which Color Grade Should I Choose?
Diamonds graded D and E are naturally the most valuable and desirable because of their rarity. Such diamonds are a treat for the eyes of anyone. But you can still obtain very attractive diamonds that are graded slightly less than colorless. Diamonds graded F and G show virtually no color that is visible to the untrained eye. Diamonds graded H and I are almost colourless to the untrained eye and provide excellent value for money.
Keep in mind that, while most people strive to buy the most colorless diamond they can afford, there are many people who actually prefer the warmer glow of lower-color diamonds.
